What happens during a tooth extraction?

Right before tooth extraction at the Dental Lounge, your dentist numbs the treatment area, so you don't feel pain. They offer medicine to make you feel comfortable and relaxed or help you fall asleep during the procedure. 

Your dentist uses specialized dental tools to remove the affected tooth. They close the incisions or fill in empty gaps with gauze to control bleeding.

What should I expect after the procedure?

After tooth extraction, you rest in a recovery area. You can expect some tenderness during the healing process after extraction. Follow all of your post-care instructions. 

You might follow a liquid or soft-food diet initially after the procedure, and eat solid foods when your dentist gives you permission. Ice the treatment area and take medications as directed. 

Avoid brushing your teeth vigorously, drinking through a straw, or completing vigorous exercise until your dentist says it’s okay. Call the Dental Lounge office if you experience any problems.
